Time frame: Tuesday afternoon. Posting now because I’ll be going out of town from this afternoon until around midnight Tuesday Night/Wednesday Morning
We are breathing
While you're sleeping. Go;
And leave us alone.
The liars cheating,
Our hearts beating. Go;
And now you're on your own.
Kiara’s eyes blazed bright, the red burning brighter than it had in months. She knew the Norn was low, but as low as she really was? That was a mystery even for Kiara. At least it was until Harry had told her what the letter that Louis wrote for him had said. She had felt the anger boiling then, but she didn’t act on it until she was well away from the younger boy. She drove down the familiar road at a speed that she was sure was almost unnaturally beyond the speed limit, but even if she had seen lights flashing behind her, the girl wasn’t going to stop until she reached that familiar house.
“I’ll be over in a little bit, be awake.” That was the only thing that Kiara had told Harry. She didn’t need him to worry any more than he would just knowing she was upset. And she intended to stick to that. She’d faced the woman before, and she wasn’t about to leave without getting her way this time.
Stopping only long enough to pull a rather bulky power tool that would double as the spritely Fury’s weapon of choice out of the trunk of her car, Kiara made her way up the stairs of the old house, knocking once before letting herself in with a swift kick. “It’s been a while, hasn’t it?” She asked as she stormed around the tree, eyes turning from red to a pitch black.
The old woman looked at her for a moment before the face clicked in her memory, “You. You were but a human last time I saw you.” She practically snarled, and Kiara was amused to witness the woman’s faithful servant leave the room at the sight of the two women fully prepared to go at one another with a vengeance.
“That’s the thing about humanity, isn’t it?” Kiara retorted quickly, “It’s just so damn fickle. I’m sure we had that discussion last time I was here.” She lifted up the chainsaw that she had brought with her, pulling the string and grinning wildly as the engine roared to life. “Or do you need a reminder of that?”
“You’re fae now,” The Norn spat, “You wouldn’t dare to destroy another fae’s power source.”
Kiara raised a brow at that and let out a high pitched “Ha!” She wasn’t about to let the old crone talk her out of what she came there for, “Wouldn’t I? I would give up all the anger in the world for what I came here for. So don’t tell me that.” She stated, adding on quickly “And that’s not me making a god damned trade with you, either.”
“You forget, that I may not be human anymore, but ‘hell hath no fury like a woman scorned’. And honey, I’m a fury, I’m a woman, and you best believe I’ve been scorned.” She spoke once again, pulling the chainsaw back to life and turning swiftly to set the rotating blade to the tree. She couldn’t help but grin even wider when the Norn’s blouse began to cover with blood.
“STOP!” The woman practically shrieked, and Kiara pulled the chainsaw back, letting the engine die and looking at her expectantly, “What do you want? Name your price.”
Kiara smirked, she had been waiting for that. She lowered the blade and leaned in so that her face was mere centimeters away from the elder fae’s. She spat out her request in a tone that was far more serious than she could remember sounding in a long time. Even the fights she had almost nightly with Zayn didn’t measure up to this. “I want Peter Pan back, you bitch.”
“Never.” The old woman didn’t have to think to respond, and Kiara shrugged.
“Fine, then I’ll make myself a nice headboard. It’s your call.” The fury stated simply, bringing the machine back to life and thrusting the blade at the ancient wood. Laughing evilly when The Norn cried out in agony, more blood seeping through the blouse as she dropped towards the floor.
“FINE!" She yelled to be heard over the engine and Kiara pulled the blade back, letting the roar cease once more, "The boy can be himself again. Go on.” She nodded towards the back room that Kiara knew all too well.
Kiara nodded in return, wanting to be led rather than to let the old hag walk behind her; everything about that screamed unsafe. And the woman obliged, Leading Kiara down the narrow hallway and into the room. “Take his bottle, and nothing more. And don’t break anything this time.” She hissed, making Kiara shudder at the memory of last time. The last thing she wanted was another thing like Inari on her tail again.
She stepped into the small room, looking at each of the bottles, trying to figure out which was his until her eyes landed on one that was such a shade of green it had to belong to none other than Peter Pan himself. “This one?” She asked, reaching for it, and looking behind her to see the Norn nod in confirmation. Taking the bottle from the shelf, Kiara stepped out of the room as quickly as she came, backing away from the Norn and revving up the engine on the chainsaw once to let her know to keep her distance. “Hopefully, we won’t be meeting again.” She told her with a curt nod, honestly hoping that would be the case, as she walked around the tree, never facing forward until she was out of the door, at which point she turned to make a run for her car. She had a lifetime of memories to deliver and wasn’t going to hesitate to return them to the person that could .
